Compared to typical wood screws, decking screws have increased shear and pullout strength. Some decking screws have ribs under the heads to increase gripping power. The material stainless steel is ideal for sustaining pollution, weathering and humidity.
Decking screws are optimized for efficient, secure fastening of decking and outdoor projects. Correct length is important - too short won't grip enough threads, too long can poke through the bottom. 2-3x the thickness of the top board is a good guideline.
SS302/304 - Most widely used grades. Resists corrosion in mild environments. Good for general outdoor use.
SS316 - Better resistance to chlorides and saltwater. Great for marine fasteners.
