Farmer screw is also known as Roofing screw. It is designed for metal roofing applications. Its coarse thread tightly grips the metal. Its drill point works for easy installation. The powder painted color screw head integrate visually with the roofing material. Overall, these attributes make roofing screws ideal fasteners for assembling and installing metal roofing systems.
The versatility in drill point, thread style, and coloring allows roofing screws to be adapted for different roofing applications and visual requirements. Farmer screw is always assembled with EPDM bonded washer to avoid water leaking. Zinc plating is usually required and sometimes the long-life coating as Ruspert 500 hours SST or 1000 hours SST is also applied for enhanced corrosion protection.
